Applying for courses

Research courses

Before you register and apply, thoroughly research your course options using CourseSearch. For further information, see Finding courses.

Register with VTAC

Before you can apply you must register via the home page. If you have registered with VTAC in a previous year you must register again this year.

!

Do not register more than once this year. If you have a current VTAC ID and PIN (issued to you this year), use these to login and apply for courses.

Login to apply

To apply for courses you must login to MyInfo from the home page using your VTAC ID and PIN.

Apply online

All course applications through VTAC are submitted online using the VTAC Course Application. This web-based application form guides you through your application step-by-step. It can only be accessed via MyInfo and is available 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week during the application period. See Important dates.

!

If you register more than once and submit more than one VTAC Course Application you will be charged a duplication fee for each subsequent application you submit. Only details from your original registration and original application will be used. See fees.

!

Unpaid fees?

You will not be able to submit a course application if you have unpaid fees from previous years. Contact VTAC to determine how these outstanding fees can be paid.

Already applied?

If you have already applied for courses through VTAC this year - do not register again in order to submit another application - you can add or change course preferences and application details by logging into MyInfo.

For more information see After you apply for courses

Complete your application

It is your responsibility to ensure that you complete your application accurately, answer all relevant questions and provide the required information.

!

If you provide incorrect information as part of your application it may jeopardise your chance of selection or your offer(s) may be withdrawn.

Claiming previous studies

In the 'Year 12' and 'post-secondary' sections of the VTAC Course Application you must list all previous studies undertaken in Australia or overseas including: all secondary studies undertaken in previous years and all tertiary studies (including tertiary study this year if you did not officially withdraw by the census date).

!

If you omit previous studies from your application it may jeopardise your chance of selection or your offer(s) may be withdrawn.

You will be advised during the application process whether you are required to supply supporting documentation if VTAC cannot obtain results on your behalf.

Including previous names

If you have changed your name or used a different name for any previous studies, you must provide VTAC with details of your previous names when completing your application. If you omitted any previous names or recorded them incorrectly when applying you must contact VTAC to have the amendment made.

For information about evidence required for study claims and name changes, and instructions on supplying documents see Providing documentation

Providing an Australian mailing address

If possible you should list an Australian address where you will be able to receive correspondence.

!

If you list an overseas address on your application, you may not receive correspondence or be able to respond in time, which may jeopardise the success of your application.

Listing preferences

You must list a minimum of one course to complete a course application and you are able to list a maximum of twelve courses. Graduate Entry Teaching applicants may include a maximum of four Graduate Entry Teaching preferences.

You must list courses in preference order (i.e. the course you want the most should be listed as your number one preference). You can use a search function to find course codes while you are completing your application.

For information about applying for graduate-entry courses see: Graduate Entry Teaching
